Opportunities for Families
At the Upper Room the priority is family. We want to help in the strengthening and spiritual growth of the family. To help in the maintaining and/or regaining closeness in family relationships and (re)establishing dads as godly spiritual leaders of their families and mentors of their children we try to provide opportunities to do family based activities. Our goal of family-based activities is to provide an alternative to a world whose structures (e.g. school), values (e.g. mothers working out of the home) and technology (e.g. TV) already separate family members most waking hours of every day. Below is some activities that are coming up which can help in the family having fun and re-connecting to each other.

Upcoming Opportunities for Families
Biblical IBC 2010 Couples Retreat This year we are encouraging couples to sign up for the Family Life Marriage Conference Family Life Weekend to Remember. It is Friday–Sunday, February 26–28, at the Empress in Victoria, BC. Register with IBC by January 31, $178 per couple plus hotel, meals and ferry cost. Some scholarships available. Financial Study . If you are interested in participating in an 11-week study on Wednesday evenings, 6–8 p.m. (same time as AWANA), February 3 – April 28, please sign the Information Card today, contact Tanya at the church office, 452-3351 or tanya@indbible.org. If we have at least eight interested people, we can hold the class. The Biblical Financial Study for Life Groups is a study of what Scripture teaches about money and possessions. Participants have confirmed that marriages are being strengthened and individuals are finding their way out of debt.
Christmas Eve Services Thursday, December 24, IBC Worship Center:
• 6 p.m. Family Celebration
• 10:30 p.m. Candlelight Service
We are going to be making Advent Wreaths after the service on Nov. 28th at the Upper Room. We will be providing all the materials that are needed. Come join us for a great time of starting of the Christmas season with the right focus.
Family Winter Camp is a great time for the entire family. There’s something for everyone: snowboarding, tubing, skiing, hanging out by the fireplaces, hot tubbing and more.
Where: The Firs Chalet on Mt. Baker
When: Feb. 7-10 (one day more this year!)
Cost (Includes 3 nights and 8 meals. All ski activities are on your own.): Adults: $139 (13+). Youth $69 (3-12). Infants and Toddlers $FREE (0-2).
Deposit: A 25% deposit is required when you register. Deposits are nonrefundable unless we find someone else to take your spot.
Payments: You can pay in part or in full. Balance is due by January 5.
